Canada: A city councillor in Canada questions the land acknowledgements procedure, which is not a law, but has been widely adopted by all city councils, school boards, provincial and federal legislatures in Canada. It does absolutely nothing to help Indigenous communities. All she wanted was her objection noted and on record. After doing so, she received a letter suspending her from her position.
